How to market your event in 2017.

So - you know what you want.  You’ve got a band in mind and know what drinks will go down well.  Now what do you do?


Your primary objective should be marketing your event to ensure the best possible turn out.


There are a number of ways to market an event:


Let’s start with the most cost efficient - social media. You won’t see any event in this day and age who do not advertise their events on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat or Twitter, Fact.


You can create social media accounts for free and they are exceptionally powerful tools to assist you in event domination! (Well to at least fill your venue anyway) First things first, create a dedicated page on Facebook for your event, build-up a following and share quality content to your audience. Drop in sneak previews of what your event offers and emphasise how your event is a ‘must see’.


Make sure you engage with your audience, actively answer any and all questions put forward on Social Media, email or even phone calls. Building a professional reputation is essential to your success and keeping your audience happy is the first step to creating customer loyalty.

Not all marketing is free, a little cash should be spent on posters, flyers, billboard ads etc. Create visually striking content and design flyers which grab your audience, include the essentials, date, time and location.


The rest is up to you, add the cost of the event or even specifics just make sure you don’t over power your flyer with irrelevant content which is dismissible, remember an image can speak a thousand words so choose wisely!


Finally, consider launching an email marketing campaign. There are free tools which can be used to distribute visual content with a call to action. Mailchimp is a popular email marketing tool which allows you to tailor your email directly to your audience. It is easy to use and all you need to supply are the emails and your good to go!
